Hi there! :parachute: Long time no see Hack Club. A few life updates… I voted for the first time a few weeks ago, been teaching kids how to code, playing around w/ how to create Figma widgets/plugins and did something kinda wild today… I jumped out of an airplane with my mom! It was a surreal, exciting experience and reminds me how small we are in this vast universe and to continue to do something outside of my comfort zone. I am super grateful and would love to do something like this again!

Planned a solo trip to Santa Barbara! I purposefully left some wiggle room in my schedule to be spontaneous. Went e-biking, bought ice cream, saw lots of art in museums, thrifting, people watching at the pier and beach, etc. Very tired but had a lot of fun
KWK Week Two: Our team created a fully functional and somewhat responsive MVP website in less than 2 days! Our team was passionate about the AAPI community and decided to create "Cafe Oori" -- your one stop shop to AAPI resources. ☕ It's bittersweet to say goodbye but I've met a great group of people these past two weeks and made great memories. It has truly been a blast being part of a community who hypes each other up in the comments, codes, and is just supportive overall. We reviewed HTML, CSS, and JS concepts. Our team created Signum, a web app that uses machine learning and camera vision to detect American Sign Language gestures in real-time for those who want to learn practical and necessary phrases in a fun, engaging way. We were able to create an image processing deep learning network that delivers a model with 90% accuracy in less than 24 hours. I helped with the UI/UX and research portion of the project and it was a fun process overall!

It's about personal narratives and it serves as a historical archive of stories from students and other community members at our school. I am still figuring out how to podcast, but it has been a fun process piecing audio together

Long time no see Scrapbook! I created a virtual gratitude wall last night. My club collected over 500 responses, so I coded a word cloud and designed a website to display info. It has been a hotminute week since I posted on scrapbook. One thing that happened though was that our team was able to get the creator of C++ to speak at our hackathon event. Super excited! 🙂

I am redesigning my school newspaper website so I made a maintenance page that redirects to this gif haha. Edit: I accidentally said our twice in the message. I fixed it! I found out about the OpenAI GPT-3 a few days back but this is really fascinating. As the article said, it's like the ultimate autocorrect based on what a person wants. We are just getting started folks...
Other than that, I went on five meeting calls today preparing pitch presentations, lab meetings, etc. It was a blast but I am pooped right now. I am going to go to listen to some music and sleep earlier than I normally do today. :sleepingparrot:
